Campus Woudestein at the Erasmus University Rotterdam had started to lag behind other international universities and so was drastically rebuilt in 2013. At the centre of the new campus, there is a lively heart that includes the Erasmus Plaza, Institutes Lane, the Erasmus Pavilion, a pond and green spaces. One half of the V-shaped bridge crossing the pond will include Staco pressed gratings type RR and the other half will use architectural Staco Artdeck® gratings type AD with anthracite plastic granules. All gratings were produced to size and supplied by Staco Nederland.
An unique V-shaped bridge crossing the pond. One half of the bridge will include Staco pressed gratings type RR and the other half will use architectural Artdeck® gratings. All the gratings were produced to size and supplied by Staco Nederland. The openings in the Artdeck® gratings are filled with anthracite plastic granules. These gratings are not transparent and so people walking or crossing the bridge feel more secure.
In this way, the heart of the campus links the different campus areas and acts as a natural meeting place: all the roads of Woudestein come together here. Staff, students and visitors can stroll around, relax or look at the Erasmus Pavilion.
Staco pressed grating type RR 3-35, mesh size 33 x 33, hot-dip galvanised and for 50% completed with anthracite plastic granules
