In Amsterdam, construction is under way in the new Oostenburg district. In addition to 1800 new homes, there will also be a mix of meeting places and catering establishments to generate business in the area. This includes the recently opened Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Landmark, a brand new luxury wellness hotel with a raw edge.
Oostenburg has a rich industrial past. Although the district is undergoing a transformation into a hip, new city district, the historical core is preserved. Monuments such as the Werkspoorhal and the old quay walls can all be visited in the future. In fact, the industrial character is even reflected in the hotel’s design - the interior consists of raw concrete and massive steel columns, and in the lobby a real yellow tap body adorns the wall.
It is therefore no surprise that the exterior of the hotel was also allowed to have a robust appearance. The combination of the bricks with the black steel balconies, balustrades and bridges gives a sturdy but also elegant effect. For this structure, Staco was asked to supply 110 m2 and 33 steps of gratings with a bearing bar of 50 x 3 mm to achieve the desired load. The gratings are coated black at Rotocoat.
